Eye Makeup Looks Inspired by JUNO & Co. x Spongebob Collab

Did anyone else take off running toward the TV when they heard “Are ya ready kids?” If you were always there to let out an emphatic “Aye-aye captain,” we’ve got some great news.

JUNO & Co. collaborated with SpongeBob to release the Bikini Bottom Bundle—a set of microfiber sponges that look like SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, and Gary the snail.

For beauty lovers who were once devout Nickelodeon kids, applying foundation with a “SpongeBob Sponge” is somewhat of a full circle experience. Mother of Pearl, I’m getting emotional!

Inspired by the collab and the release of “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run,” I created 3 makeup looks that pay tribute to Bikini Bottom’s finest. Read on for some totally coral designs to add a little nautical nonsense to your beauty bag.

Look #1: I’m Ready

Whether it’s flipping Krabby Patties at the Krusty Krab or jellyfishing in Jellyfish Fields, your favorite sponge approaches life with a vivid imagination (cue the rainbow) and an infectious can-do attitude. Let’s celebrate SpongeBob SquarePants with an F.U.N. eye look that’ll have you shouting “I’m Ready” loud enough to disturb Squidward’s clarinet practice.

What you’ll need for SpongeBob-inspired eyes:

  • Golden brown eye shadow
  • Bright yellow eye shadow
  • Lime green cream color
  • Black liquid liner
  • Sky Blue eye shadow
  • Wispy eyelashes
  • Cheek stain
  • Brown cream color

  1. With a blending brush, apply a brown shadow to your crease. Go for a bronzed shade with a gold reflect like Natasha Denona Mono Eye Shadow in Suede.

  2. Using a dampened flat brush, apply bright yellow eyeshadow to your lid, like Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Buttercupcake.

  3. Create Spongebob’s holes on your lid using a lime green cream color, like Danessa Myricks Cream Color Metallic in Limesicle. Dip a microliner brush into the cream color and create 5-6 spaced out dots on top of the yellow shadow.

  4. Draw a thin winged line using black liquid liner.

  5. With a dampened microliner brush, apply sky blue eye shadow to your lower lash line and blend.

  6. Finish off the eyes by adding ultra-wispy false lashes.

  7. Add a bold, rosy-colored cheek stain like Benefit’s Benetint to cheekbones.

  8. Create Spongebob’s signature freckles, using the tip of your makeup sponge and brown cream color. Dot three freckles on the highest part of each cheekbone.

Look #2: Finland

Spongebob’s best friend, Patrick Star brings extreme humor to the cast with a hilarious line-up of quotes that transcend the ages—the inner machinations of his mind are truly an enigma. Pay tribute to the founder of Wumbology, with a makeup look inspired by this goofy goober.

Here’s what you’ll need for this leedle leedle look:

  • Coral-champagne eye shadow
  • Coral-pink eye shadow
  • Purple eyeliner
  • Lime green eyeliner
  • Natural lashes
  • Bright orange cream color
  • Peach-colored blush

Note: All eye shadow recommendations mentioned for this look are found in Natasha Denona’s Coral Palette.

  1. Using a flat brush, apply a coral-champagne color like Kai to your lid for some star-quality sheen.

  2. With a blending brush, add a dash of coral-pink eyeshadow, like Lyria, on your crease.

  3. Create a two-toned, lower lash line inspired by Patrick’s green and purple shorts. Using a microliner brush, apply purple cream color to the outer part of your lash line, and apply lime green cream color to the inner part of your lash line. Both colors should meet at the center of your lower lash line.

  4. Clean, then dip your microliner brush into a bright orange cream color. Starting from your tear duct, deposit a trail of small dots along your crease to mimic the orange holes that Patrick has speckled on his body.

  5. Add a natural pair of winged lashes for extra length.

  6. Top off your look by dusting on a peachy blush.

Look #3: Meow

Although Gary is a pet of few words, the trusty sea snail is always there to protect SpongeBob from danger and teach him the basics—like how to tie shoes. Honor Gare Bear with an eye look that highlights his defining features.

What you’ll need to create Gary’s iconic shell design on your eye:

  • Pink-peach eye shadow
  • Deep red cream color
  • Purple cream color
  • Natural lashes
  • Optional: Pale blue liquid eyeshadow

  1. Using a flat brush, apply a pink-peach eye shadow, like Sugarpill Loose Eyeshadow in Charmy to your lid.

  2. For liner, recreate Gary’s curly shell design along your lash line. Dip a microliner brush into a deep red cream color like Danessa Myricks Cream Color Metallic in Medallion. Trace the color along your lash line. As you approach the end of your eye, wing outward and create a swirl design for the tail.

  3. Add purple accent dots around your swirled liner—just like Gary has! Picking up a small amount of purple cream color, like Danessa Myricks Cream Color Metallic in Wild Orchid, create 5 small dots around the curled design. Apply in an inverted c-formation.

  4. Pop on a pair of barely there lashes for subtle length.

Optional: Add pale blue liquid eye shadow to your lower lash line to complete this mollusk-inspired makeup look.
