THE WHAT? Interparfums has reported its results for the 2022 fiscal year. The fragrance giant recorded record earnings for the full year with net income up 40 percent on 2021’s figures and sales rising 26 percent to €706.6 million. THE DETAILS The company noted that it had extended its partnership with Montblanc until December 31, 2030 and, subject to the General Meeting’s ratification, hit its goal of achieving gender parity on its board. THE WHY? Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO, commented, “Against the backdrop of a turbulent economic and geopolitical environment, our sales and earnings continued to grow in 2022. Natural 4C hair is the coiliest and kinkiest of all the hair types. And, honestly, sometimes it can seem like magic hair! 4C naturalistas know exactly what we mean because they know exactly what shrinkage does to their hair. You can tug the strands right down to the middle of your back, let go, and watch them coil back up to finally rest just an inch or so from your scalp.
Thankfully, the versatility of naturally textured hair means we can make full use of that shrinkage and those lovely coils and kinks to wear our hair in a wide variety of styles. We love embracing the curliness of our curls. But yes, sometimes we want to show off the true length of our hair, too, or slick back those kinky coils for a sleek style, like Zara does with her hair.
Trying to slick down natural 4C hair certainly isn’t as easy as snapping your fingers or waving a magic wand. You will need a few products to help you get it done. Tea tree oil – This is mixed with water and sprayed on the scalp. Tea tree oil is both highly moisturizing and a natural antimicrobial.
Hair gel – Zara uses a lot of gel in her naturally thick hair, seriously A LOT! In fact, she uses two types of gel and explains exactly why she does that.
Hairbands and butterfly clips – They assist with holding and sectioning your hair. Applying products to small sections of your hair and then detangling those sections individually, makes it much more manageable and helps to prevent over-manipulation of your hair.
Hairbrushes – Have a two-sided bristle brush and a detangling brush on hand to help you with detangling and styling.
