Tower 28 Beauty Review

Tower 28 Beauty is a newer clean beauty brand that offers both skincare and makeup products. The first Tower 28 product I tried was the mascara. And let’s just say that really wowed me. So I knew I needed to try out more of their products, which I did! And I am sharing my full review of this clean beauty brand.

Tower 28 Beauty

Tower 28 is a clean beauty brand that was founded in Santa Monica, California in 2019. The brand gets its name from a lifeguard tower that sits where the Santa Monica Pierre and Venice Beach meet. This name (and location) reflects exactly what the brand is all about “community, healthy fun and clean living.” They quickly made a name for themselves and even launched in Sephora by 2020.

Who created Tower 28 Beauty?

Founded by Amy Liu, Tower 28 was born out of the need for clean beauty that was made for those with sensitive skin. While sensitive skin can present in different ways, Amy suffered from eczema. Even natural beauty products, while full of great and nontoxic ingredients, can contain things like essential oils and plant botanicals that can be irritating to those with sensitive skin.

With her experience as a beauty executive for 15+ years and a love for entrepreneurship, Amy was able to develop the Tower 28 Beauty brand. With a ‘no-no’ list that is extensive, prices that are actually affordable and easy accessibility, this brand continues to take the clean beauty world by storm.

Tower 28 has great products that are affordable AND made with sensitive skin in mind.
Where is Tower 28 based?

Tower 28 is based in California with all of their products being made in both the USA and Canada.

Is Tower 28 cruelty free?

Yes, Tower 28 is cruelty free (no testing on animals) and vegan (no animal-derived ingredients or byproducts including fats, oils, musks)! They are even PETA certified.

MakeWaves Mascara

It was love at first swipe when I tried the Tower28 mascara!  This really performs SO well.  It gives my lashes lift, volume, length and lots of pigment.  It doesn’t smudge or flake.  The only time I notice a little flaking is when it’s time to get a new tube.  I love how it can be so buildable.  You can have minimal lashes or keep building for really amped up lashes.  I love the price too – it’s a steal for a clean beauty mascara that performs. My new favorite mascara!

A vegan mascara that works for even sensitive eyes!

BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm

This tinted balm is perfect for your cheeks or lips.  I was surprised how natural looking it looks on.  It blends so well and looks seamless on the skin. It gives a dewy look and adds a natural hue of pigment.  The formula is silicone free and very buildable.  If you want more color, just add more to your cheeks. I have the colors Office Hours and Happy Hour and love both!  I love how it adds some luster to the lips but not overwhelming.  The color pigment is just enough.

A multi-tasking balm that works for both lips and cheeks!

Cost: $20

SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray

This spray is for angry, stressed skin.  It really helps to soothe the skin with hypochlorous acid.  This is made naturally by the skin. It’s anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. Not only does it help to protect against bacteria, but it also helps to calm and reduce redness. I use this in the morning or at night after cleansing in place of a toner.  I don’t have angry or inflamed skin so I can’t speak to it in that regard but it did feel so good on my skin.  I did spray it on my daughter’s skin when she was having an allergic reaction to food or carpet(the jury’s still out on what exactly happened) but I can say it felt good on her skin she told me and helped to calm it. I visibly saw the redness reduced!

A soothing and repairing spray for inflamed skin!

Cost: $28

SunnyDays Tinted SPF Sunscreen Foundation

I am so impressed with this product!  It is my new favorite tinted moisturizer.  Not only does it cover redness and imperfections but it helps to give skin a glow.  My skin didn’t feel like it had a mask on at all but just a natural glow!  I’ve found with a lot of tinted moisturizers they don’t provide much coverage- not with this one.  It really does such a great job of helping to even out redness.  I’m wearing the color Mulholland.

SunnyDays is a great 2 in 1 product – a tinted mineral sunscreen!

Cost: $30

ShineOn Lip Jelly

This has the shine of a gloss but the soothing properties of a balm.  It hydrates the lips but doesn’t feel sticky, just tons of shine.  They look so natural on the lips, not overly done.  I love wearing these on their own, or over the top of a liner or lipstick to add a little extra pop.  I have the colors Pistachio– the quintessential rosy pink and Wild a sheer raspberry.  Highly recommend them if you’re into glosses!

A non sticky lip gloss that is moisturizing and combines 5 natural oils to protect and sooth lips!

Cost: $15

OneLiner Multi Liner

I have several of these and reach for them for an eyeliner or a lip liner.  They go on so easily!  So many liners can tug or be hard to apply to the lash line, but not this one.  It seamlessly glides on the eye area.  However, the staying power isn’t amazing.  I will prep my lids with a translucent powder and that’s helped but it still will disappear quicker than I would like.  I did add some darker shadow on top of the liner and that seemed to help it stay better on the eyes but still not perfect.  I love them for a liner.  They are easy to apply and great for prepping the lips for lipstick. I have the colors, Fill Me In a rosy nude and Draw Me In, a Chocolate Brown.

Another multi use product from Tower 28 – You can use the OneLiner for eyes, lip and cheeks even!

Cost: $15

Conclusion: Is Tower 28 Worth It?!

I have been so impressed with all the products I’ve tried from Tower 28!  They really perform so well and are so worth it.  I really appreciate the quality, but also the price point.  They offer great products at a more affordable price than most clean beauty.  I can’t wait to see new products they come out with in the future!
