Interparfums FY 2022: record earnings as operating profit soars 33 percent

THE WHAT? Interparfums has reported its results for the 2022 fiscal year. The fragrance giant recorded record earnings for the full year with net income up 40 percent on 2021’s figures and sales rising 26 percent to €706.6 million. THE DETAILS The company noted that it had extended its partnership with Montblanc until December 31, 2030 and, subject to the General Meeting’s ratification, hit its goal of achieving gender parity on its board. THE WHY? Philippe Benacin, Chairman and CEO, commented, “Against the backdrop of a turbulent economic and geopolitical environment, our sales and earnings continued to grow in 2022. Oribe’s 2021 Holiday Packaging Is Here, and It’s Giving Us Full-On French Château

Each year, Oribe partners with talented artists who infuse passion and purpose into their work. This year, the haircare brand collaborated with French interior design atelier À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson to handcraft four unique gift designs that combine French heritage with elements of Oribe’s history.

Inspired by geometric domino papers from the mid-18th century, the boxes look like something you might find in a French château. These decorative designs encourage recipients to keep the packaging long after the products are gone.

Oribe x Antoinette Poisson Signature Experience Collection

Vincent Farelly and Jean Baptiste Martin founded À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson in 2012 after uncovering fragments of “domino paper” while restoring a historic house in the Auvergne region of France. “Domino papers,” also known as “dominoterie,” are decorative, hand-painted papers designed with historical block printing techniques that were widely popular in the 18th century.

Vincent and Jean-Baptiste set out with the goal of preserving these delicate designs, transporting the charm of 18th century interior decorations to the present day through their atelier.

Located in a quaint Parisian courtyard, À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson brings authenticity and skilled craftsmanship to their creations. Every domino paper is carefully handcrafted and thoughtfully designed by first cutting the paper into a printing block, engraving it with 18th century-inspired patterns, and then hand painting the intricate designs with color.

Inspired by À Paris chez Antoinette Poisson’s attention to detail, skillful technique, and reflection of French history, the Oribe team met with Vincent and Jean-Baptiste in Paris to dream up holiday packaging that’ll transport you to France upon first glance.

“We wanted the designs to be eye-catching,” says Jean-Baptiste Martin. “We wanted to create the feeling that once you’ve used the products, you want to keep the box as a decorative object because it looks like something you might find in a French château.”

Vincent and Jean-Baptiste invented four main patterns for the packaging, each carrying a rich story that highlights elements of Oribe’s history:


The Waves

18th-century patterns of half-water and half-plant figures surround a garland informed by the floral notes in Oribe’s signature scent Côte d’Azur.


Goddess & Gemstones

Vincent and Jean-Baptiste incorporate the Oribe Goddess emblem in a geometric diamond pattern, popularized in mid-18th century domino papers.


Flowers & Ribbons

This design is inspired by the vibrant personality and signature tattoos of Founder Oribe Canales. These elements merge with the essence of ribbons and flowers found in the signature Côte d’Azur fragrance.


Goddess & Checkerboard

Oribe’s goddess emblem reappears as it interacts with cloisonné, a recurrent 18th-century decorative motif similar to a checkerboard.


Not only do these designs provide an unforgettable experience for both gift-giver and receiver, but the packaging features a second partnership with a green packaging provider to produce boxes at zero emission at a zero-waste facility. The sets are made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) paper using 100% clean energy and 100% recycled or reused water.
