The price we pay for staying fly! The good news is, you’re not alone. We’ve been there, done that and have found a few super simple ways to naturally remove makeup and other stains from clothing. Keep it cute and clean with our makeup stain tips.

How to remove lipstick stains

For the girls who love to rock a bold lip, you know that lipstick stains are one of the most common makeup mishaps. If you’ve ever found yourself dealing with lipstick on your blouse, your partner’s shirt collar, or even your linens, this DIY remover is for you. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

● A clean detergent

● Water

● White vinegar and baking soda

● Rubbing alcohol

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients it’s time to get to work. Start by cleaning your item stain side down and make sure to work on an absorbent towel to protect your clothes and the cleaning surface. You’ll want to go in with equal parts detergent and water and gently rub out the stain. Flip your garment over and repeat!

For more stubborn stains, creating a white vinegar and baking soda paste can help. Mix equal parts of the two and repeat the gentle scrubbing process until the stain lifts. For an extra stain fighting boost, rubbing alcohol can really break down color and lift stubborn stains that don’t want to budge.

How to remove blush and bronzer stains

For the girls that love to play in makeup, you know the fall out from blushes, bronzers, and eyeshadows can wreak havoc on our clothing. There’s nothing like getting all made up and realizing you ruined your outfit! If you’ve been there here’s what you’ll need to remove blush, bronzer, and other powdered makeup:

Ingredients

● Clean detergent

● Hydrogen peroxide

● Baking soda

Instructions

First, dust out as much of the product as possible. Be careful not to rub the product in! If on furniture, carpet, or a durable fabric, you can use a vacuum to get rid of the excess product. Next, pre-treat the stain by creating a wet paste by mixing detergent and a few drops of water.

For most stains, that should be enough to naturally lift the stain, but if not, combine baking soda with hydrogen peroxide and apply to the stain. Let It sit for a few moments and then gently scrub out.

How to remove sweat and deodorant stains

We’re amongst friends here so we can discuss another type of stain that can leave us just as frustrated as makeup smudges. While a crisp white blouse or dress can make you feel confident and carefree, nothing is more embarrassing than raising your arms to reveal ugly yellow stains from sweat and deodorant. Especially if you’re on that clean journey and trying out cleaner personal care products. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how we remove sweat and deodorant stains from clothing:

Ingredients

● Baking soda

● Hydrogen peroxide

● White vinegar

Instructions

Make a paste by combining a few tablespoons of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, then let the paste sit on the garment for an hour or two. Add an equal number of tablespoons of white vinegar and gently scrub out the deodorant and sweat stains.

Pro Cleaning Tips:

● If the stain is fresh, save yourself some time by first rinsing with cold water to see if it will come out on its own.

● Check the tag to confirm cleaning instructions (e.g., do not dry clean, do not machine wash).

● Start with two tablespoons (2 fluid oz) of each ingredient and add more as needed.

● Always test the cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area of your garment in case it bleeds.

● To start, always tap in the solution versus rubbing it.

● Afterward, if needed, wash the garment with a clean detergent.

● Be patient! Sometimes the solution needs to sit for a while. Don’t rush it and don’t give up!
